Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for Senior Accountant with 8-10 years experience in the Accounting function.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and analyze variances to provide insights into financial performance.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and collection from customers.
- Auditing & Compliance: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Ensure all financial activities comply with company policies and relevant local laws and regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Taxation: Handle tax-related matters, including the calculation and filing of Value Added Tax (VAT) returns.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A professional certification like ACCA, CPA, or CMA is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the utility, energy, or construction sectors. Experience with a large, publicly-listed company would be a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
