Roles & Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Provide oversight the assigned Clerk(s), Supply and Lead(s), Group Store, providing managerial guidance.

  • Ensure accurate and effective document control is maintained; including filing and administrative 5S.
  • Drive 6S.
  • Responsible for scheduling employee leaves and vacations, with emphasis on maintaining continuous warehouse operations.
  • Monitor and order workshop stores equipment, office supplies, and any IT/safety needs.
  • Promote continuous improvement, and generate fresh and innovative ideas to improve departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain security awareness and understanding of the vulnerability of stock within the store.
  • Work with the Manager, Unit Stores to resolve internal compliance issues.
  • Assist in inventories. Ensure prompt attention to the causative research of discrepancies.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of spares to the workshops and maintain up-to-date SAP data entry on all transactions.
  • Monitor and control all supply transactions; ensure performance metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Identify trends in material supply levels and determine if action is required to prevent potential problems or stoppages in the workshops.
  • Be aware of the importance of physical security and the vulnerability of spares in the store.
  • Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
  • Ensure all issued tools, test equipment and high-value property is maintained in a serviceable condition, routinely inventoried and safeguarded.
  • Monitor and train Clerk(s), Supply and Lead(s), Group Store on a variety of tasks to ensure work is carried out as planned.
  • Support other members of the store in fulfilling their roles.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company documents.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Manager, Unit Stores.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor s degree is required; in Logistics or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience working in the warehousing of spares and materials is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory position is required.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and ISO methodologies, practices and processes is an advantage.
  • Previous military experience or warehousing of supplies training is an advantage.
  • The ability to prioritise work and remain task/project focussed is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills are preferred.
  • Experience driving a forklift truck is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP is required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required; Arabic is an advantage.
