Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support LAN, WAN, and wireless networks focusing on high availability and scalability.
- Configure and manage enterprise-grade switches, routers, and firewalls (primarily Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent).
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced routing and switching issues using deep protocol-level knowledge (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, HSRP/VRRP, VLANs, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network-related projects and provide technical leadership.
- Monitor network performance, conduct regular audits, and proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks or failures.
- Maintain and document network architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide Level 3 support for escalated network incidents and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation as needed.
- Ensure network security by applying firewalls, access controls, and other measures.
- Lead network upgrade and migration projects, including hardware and software upgrades.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering roles with a focus on routing and switching.
- Proven experience working with Cisco/Juniper network hardware.
- Strong hands-on experience with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and MPLS.
- Experience in managing and securing large-scale enterprise networks.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
