Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with apraxia and oral-pharyngeal dysphagia, utilizing standardized and non-standardized assessment tools.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages, specifically targeting articulation, phonology, expressive and receptive language, and oral motor skills, with a focus on evidence-based practices.
  • Provide intensive therapy sessions incorporating techniques like PROMPT, DTTC, and OPT to improve speech intelligibility and communication effectiveness for individuals with apraxia and other speech disorders.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and educators, to ensure cohesive and integrated care, fostering a holistic approach to patient well-being.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university, demonstrating a strong foundation in the field.
  • Holds a valid state license and/or certification in Speech-Language Pathology, ensuring compliance with professional standards.
  • Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), showcasing expertise and commitment.
  • Demonstrates a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with a proven track record in diagnosing and treating speech and language disorders, particularly apraxia and OPT.
