Roles & Responsibilities

Desired Candidate Profile

• Manage the full cycle of lease accounting, from entry and maintenance to reconciliation and reporting.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for all lease-related accounts, including expense accruals, deferred rent, and amortization schedules.
• Experience with lease-based financing or real estate accounting.
• Input and maintain accurate data for all lease agreements within our accounting system.
• Review, interpret, and abstract all new lease and sublease agreements to ensure accurate accounting treatment.
• Prepare and review journal entries for all lease accounting activities.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to prepare journal entries for rent expenses and related accruals.
• Conduct complex balance sheet reconciliations and perform financial statement analysis related to leases.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of all lease and sublease expenses.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the Real Estate and Legal departments on all lease accounting matters.
• Assist with external audits by providing documentation and analysis related to lease accounting.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and implement necessary process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• years of experience in lease accounting, with a strong emphasis on implementation and compliance.
• Proven experience with lease accounting software (e.g., [Specific Software, e.g.,Tally, Odoo, Focus, Oracle]).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
