Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
- Customer Account Management: Manage assigned customer accounts, including negotiating contracts and agreements to maximize profit.
- Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters specific to assigned accounts, building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships.
- Retention & Business Development: Develop and execute strategies to retain existing customers and acquire new business, including upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Revenue Targets: Achieve revenue targets by responding to inbound inquiries and generating leads based on a strong understanding of the market and product.
- Product Positioning: Effectively position Informa Markets products, solutions, and services as solutions for market and business challenges that meet customer needs.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance metrics to stakeholders, identifying revenue risks and opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage multiple customer accounts concurrently, ensuring deadlines are met and expectations exceeded.
- Maintain up-to-date customer information/records, including interactions, transactions, account plans, and records on the Informa CRM system.
- Build a social media presence through social selling.
- Stay informed about new and existing products, services, and solutions, sharing insights with internal colleagues.
- Develop personal skills and knowledge, keeping abreast of the changing landscape and maintaining a personal development plan aligned with Informa Markets Sales Excellence Competencies.
- Monitor current market conditions and competitors' products, attending key Informa and industry-relevant competitor events.
- Contribute to cross-business projects as required.

- Act as the voice of the customer for product/event/solution development.

Minimum Education Level
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Essential
- Proven experience in a sales role with a track record of success.
- Computer literate and proficient in commonly used business software.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness.
- Attention to detail.
- Numerate.
Desirable
- Awareness of exhibition production.
- Experience in growing and developing new markets and products.
- Telesales, media sales, or exhibition background.
- Relevant industry knowledge.
- Understanding of event cycles.
