Roles & Responsibilities

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to lead the complete procurement and supply chain operations for a leading UAE-based contracting company. The role is fully responsible for departmental P&L, strategic sourcing, cost optimization, vendor management, and ensuring timely and quality procurement for all ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end procurement function across all business units (Infrastructure, Power, Steel, Civil etc.).
  • Manage departmental P&L, ensuring profitability, cost efficiency, and performance KPIs.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and approval workflows aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives, value engineering, and vendor performance improvement.
  • Oversee supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, and contract finalization.
  • Coordinate with Project, Planning, Estimation, Engineering, and Finance teams for material alignment.
  • Manage imports, logistics, and customs for local and international procurement.
  • Build strong vendor and subcontractor relationships, ensuring reliability and best pricing.
  • Implement and monitor ERP/e-procurement systems (Microsoft Dynamics etc.)
  • Review and approve high-value purchases and vendor contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, company policies, and internal audits.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the procurement team to deliver on-time, cost-effective results.
  • Present procurement performance and financial reports to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred).
  • 15–20 years of experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior/head role in a UAE contracting or EPC company.
  • Proven record of P&L ownership and managing high-value procurement portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure, MEP, power, and steel.
  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Excellent leadership, financial, and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of UAE market, suppliers, logistics, and customs processes.
