Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed site investigations, including soil and rock sampling, to determine ground conditions and identify potential hazards.
  • Analyze field and laboratory data to assess soil properties, calculate foundation capacities, and predict ground behavior under various loads.
  • Develop geotechnical designs for foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other earth-related structures, ensuring stability and safety.
  • Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, including recommendations for construction methods and mitigation of geotechnical risks.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams during the execution of geotechnical works, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
  • Oversee the monitoring of ground movements and the performance of geotechnical structures, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of construction projects from a geotechnical perspective, considering site constraints and environmental impacts.
  • Stay abreast of the latest geotechnical engineering techniques, software, and regulations to ensure the application of best practices.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as structural and civil engineers, to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs.
  • Manage and mentor junior geotechnical engineers, fostering their professional development and ensuring quality of work.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Holds a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field, providing a strong theoretical foundation.
  • Possesses a Professional Engineer (PE) license, demonstrating commitment to professional standards and ethical practice.
  • Certified in relevant geotechnical areas such as Slope Stability Analysis or Foundation Design, showcasing specialized expertise.
  • Demonstrates a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on diverse project types.
  • Previous experience should preferably be in infrastructure projects or similar fields, indicating relevant industry exposure.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English, and any other regional languages is a plus, facilitating effective communication.
  • Exhibits strong technical skills in geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, Plaxis) and analysis methods, ensuring accurate assessments.
  • Displays excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills, essential for effective decision-making.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, vital for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • Demonstrates a proactive and results-oriented approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
