Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operational aspects of assigned LPG and ethylene vessels including navigation, mooring, deck equipment, safety systems, port operations, and STS activities
- Ensure safe and efficient cargo operations covering loading, discharging, grade changes, and tank preparation
- Coordinate with technical teams on drydock specifications, planning, and execution
- Oversee and manage third-party inspections such as SIRE, CDI, PSC, USCG, terminal, and flag state inspections
- Conduct management inspections and internal audits, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented
- Review and respond to vessel reports including navigation, safety, inspections, near misses, and incidents
- Liaise with class societies, oil majors, ship owners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure certification compliance
- Review vessel documentation and records to meet international and company regulatory standards
- Prepare and deliver training programs for officers and crew
- Conduct safety, environmental, and security drills to assess onboard preparedness
- Carry out officer appraisals and recommend development or corrective actions
- Investigate incidents and accidents onboard when appointed by fleet management

Desired Candidate Profile
Holder of a valid Master Mariner Certificate of Competency
Sailing experience as Master or Chief Officer on LPG, ethylene, or ethane vessels
No prior shore-based experience required
Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and vessel management standards
Ability to travel at short notice and manage a 24-7 operational support role
Independent, organized, outcome-driven, and resourceful professional
Strong team orientation with the ability to manage cross-functional and external stakeholder relationships
