Job Title: Financial Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial accounting, reporting, analysis, and supporting in drive the company’s Financial strategic and operational objectives. This position requires strong analytical expertise, advanced financial skills, solid accounting knowledge (with emphasis on accounts payable, General Ledger, MIS), and the ability to communicate insights effectively to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure monthly recurring journal entries such as prepayments amortization, accruals and provisions for slow moving stocks and bad debts are accounted properly.
  • Ensure all required tasks for the monthly closing of books are completed within the agreed timelines.
  • Ensure all expenditures are mapped to the correct account.
  • Manage fixed assets for creation, deletion and depreciation run.
  • Perform bank reconciliation and pass reconciling entries.
  • Reconcile credit card transaction for credit to company’s account.
  • Assist in preparing and filing of VAT and corporate tax return.
  • Work with Line Manager to ensure the smooth flow of internal/external audit by providing all the required documents/information in a timely manner.
  • Support the preparation of financial forecasts, management reports, budgets, monthly MIS, and quarterly board presentations.
  • Offer guidance and collaborate with the Accounts Payable team.
  • Support accounts payable activities, including invoice verification, purchase order matching, expense coding, and timely vendor payments.
  • Support in maintaining proper documentation, reconciliation, and accuracy of AP transactions in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors, procurement, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and improve the efficiency of the payment cycle.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate performance, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyse variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Report directly to the Finance Manager and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or ACCA are highly desirable.
  • 5–6 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, reporting, analysis, and corporate finance, with strong exposure to accounting and AP functions.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable processes, vendor management, and reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborative professional, skilled in building positive working relationships and contributing to team success.
