Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and execute the electrical commissioning of data centre power and distribution systems.

Develop and manage commissioning plans, test procedures, and schedules in line with project requirements.

Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, and other applicable international standards.

Supervise and perform testing, validation, and performance verification of:

  • UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, and power distribution equipment.
  • Heat Load Bank Tests to confirm power capacity and system reliability.
  • Arc Flash Analysis and Discrimination Studies for safety and protection coordination.

Conduct Commissionability and Design Reviews to identify potential issues early and ensure maintainability.

Coordinate all commissioning activities with consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.

Review and approve all test plans, documentation, and compliance certificates.

Identify and resolve technical issues, deficiencies, and risks during the commissioning phase.

Ensure completion of redundancy and failover tests to meet tier and uptime requirements.

Oversee the final handover process, ensuring all systems are validated, documentation is complete, and Operations and Maintenance teams are trained.

Provide regular progress updates and lead commissioning meetings with stakeholders.

Support the Operations and Maintenance teams post-handover where necessary.
