Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate the complete lifecycle of data center infrastructure build-outs, from initial site selection and design to final commissioning and handover, ensuring alignment with business objectives and future scalability.
  • Lead the selection, procurement, and implementation of all data center hardware and software, including servers, storage, networking equipment, power distribution units (PDUs), and cooling systems, negotiating favorable vendor contracts.
  • Develop and enforce comprehensive data center standards, policies, and procedures for operations, maintenance, and security, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the data center's power and cooling infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, and HVAC, to ensure optimal efficiency, reliability, and uptime, minimizing energy consumption.
  • Oversee the physical security of the data center, including access control systems, surveillance, and environmental monitoring, protecting critical assets from unauthorized access and environmental threats.
  • Direct and mentor a team of data center engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities to foster a high-performing team.
  • Establish and maintain a robust data center monitoring and alerting system to proactively identify and address potential issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Develop and manage the data center budget, track expenses, and forecast future infrastructure needs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of data center infrastructure with business applications and services.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, demonstrating a strong technical foundation.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in data center infrastructure, with a proven track record of successful project delivery and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of data center design principles, including power distribution, cooling systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Exhibits strong knowledge of data center security best practices and regulatory compliance requirements, safeguarding critical assets.
  • Exhibits a proactive and results-oriented approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
