The company works as an outsourcing partner with numerous clients, including Etisalat, Du, DEWA, and Huawei.Job PurposeThe Cable Technician will be responsible for installing, splicing, terminating, and testing CAT6A and Fiber Optic cables to ensure reliable connectivity and system performance. This role covers both Outside plant (OSP) cabling, requiring expertise in cable pulling, conduit work, and surface coring to support structured cabling and network infrastructure projects.Key ResponsibilitiesPull, route, and secure CAT6A and Fiber Optic cables through GI and SS conduits.Perform terminations, splicing, and testing of copper and fiber optic cables for both indoor and OSP networks.Carry out OSP fiber splicing, jointing, and enclosure installations as per project standards.Execute coring and drilling on various surfaces, including brick, concrete, carbon steel, stainless steel, gypsum board, wooden walls, and precast materials.Conduct troubleshooting, fault localization, and corrective maintenance for structured and OSP cabling systems.Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality installations within deadlines.Maintain tools, splicing kits, testing equipment, and overall worksite cleanliness.RequirementsProven experience in structured cabling, OSP fiber optic installation, and splicing.Hands-on expertise in pulling, terminating, splicing, and testing CAT6A and fiber cables.Skilled in handling OSP fiber splicing, closures, and joint boxes.Knowledge of fiber testing methods (OTDR, power meter, etc.).Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and splice diagrams.Familiarity with safety standards and OSP work procedures.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Physically fit to perform on-site work, including lifting, outdoor installations, and working in confined spaces.
