A Veterinary Surgeon is a highly skilled medical professional responsible for diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries in animals. This role involves a mix of emergency, surgical, and routine procedures, ensuring the welfare of pets and different animals, including livestock and exotic species. As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will be tasked with developing treatment plans, performing surgical procedures, offering guidance to pet owners, and collaborating with a team of skilled veterinary professionals. Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for animal care are essential to succeed in this role. Responsibilities

• Diagnose illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions in a wide range of animals.
• Perform complex surgical procedures and provide postoperative care for animals.
• Prescribe medication and treatment plans tailored to meet individual animal needs.
• Educate pet owners on preventive care and health management for their animals.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Evaluate laboratory results and diagnostic imaging to guide treatment decisions.
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff to deliver high-quality care.
• Participate in regular continuing education to stay updated with medical advancements.
• Provide emergency care and perform triage to prioritize urgent cases.
• Assist in developing animal care protocols and clinic management strategies.
• Liaise with other veterinary specialists for comprehensive animal healthcare.
• Participate in community outreach programs and animal wellness initiatives.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
• Valid veterinary license to practice .
• Proven experience in small and large animal surgery and medicine.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and staff.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, accurate medical decisions.
• Compassionate approach towards animals and clients, ensuring ethical treatment.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
