Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Developing and activate the Performance Management and Monitoring Framework to track the progress of AlUla sustainability initiatives and KPIs. This includes establishing monitoring systems and tools, analyzing performance data, and delivering insights that support strategic decision-making. Additionally, the role involves overseeing and evaluating the progress towards implementing the sustainability strategy and initiatives, ensuring that key performance indicators are accurately measured and reported to drive continuous growth and long-term sustainability impact.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Initiate collaboration with key stakeholders to present the unit s mandate and outline the approach for future data collection, monitoring, and reporting on sustainability KPIs across AlUla s environmental, social, economic, and cultural pillars
  • Provide strategic directions on the monitoring approaches in alignment with the broader RCU strategy and relevant key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities are guided by relevant international sustainability frameworks, and that these frameworks are regularly reviewed to maintain alignment with national agendas and strategic directions.
  • Oversee the design and deployment of monitoring systems and tools to track the progress of sustainability initiatives.
  • Oversee the Sustainability Materiality Assessment development and alignment with RCU s Strategy.
  • Oversee the development of the sustainability reporting activities in alignment with International and Local best practices (GRI, etc.).
  • Oversee the development and publishing of the AlUla s Annual sustainability report.
  • Lead discussions with stakeholders and top management to present findings and recommendations from monitoring, performance activities, materiality assessment, and the sustainability report to guide key sustainability priorities and strategic decisions
  • Provide regular updates to upper management on requested progress and key achievements.
  • Facilitate discussions with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure excellence in the unit's operations.
  • Oversee the Strategic and Operational Risks related to the Sustainability Planning Department.
  • Oversee the unit s activities to define and articulate sustainability targets, KPIs, and metrics, ensuring full alignment with RCU s strategic directions and international best practices.
  • Develop and activate the Performance Management and Monitoring Framework.
  • Establish the unit s operational model to ensure the creation of streamlined and effective processes within the sub-unit team members and across other units and departments.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the preparation of the Department's or Section's annual budget and monitor the financial performance of the Department or Section.
  • Develop the Department's or Section's objectives, KPIs, annual operational plans and ensure plan execution is meeting the targets.
  • Ensure effective staffing, professional development and deployment of staff of the Department or Section in consultation with the Sector Executive or (Executive) Director.
  • Implement and execute the Department's or Section's policies and procedures. Oversee the overall performance of the section and ensure KPI s are well developed, cascaded, communicated and monitored.
  • Provide input to the sector s strategy from the Department's or Section's perspective in line with RCU overall vision and mission.

Desired Candidate Profile

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree Preferred) in Sustainability Management or a related field.

Work Experience

  • 8 years of relevant experience and 3 years in a managerial role
