Roles & Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

The role provides mechanical engineering expertise to enhance energy efficiency and emissions performance across Majid Al Futtaim s portfolio. It ensures accurate and auditable Scope 1 and 2 data in alignment with GHG Protocol, SBTi, and regulatory standards. The position offers technical oversight and assurance to Operating Companies and stakeholders on decarbonisation initiatives. It also supports the Group s science-based targets, sustainability-linked finance commitments, and reporting requirements.

ROLE PROFILE

  • Review and validate mechanical system performance data from Operating Companies to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with established reporting standards.
  • Provide technical input for emissions inventories and performance assessments, focusing on mechanical energy use, normalization factors, and emission calculations.
  • Govern the accurate attribution of mechanical-related emissions from systems such as chilled water, district cooling, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and fuel combustion.
  • Advise on energy conservation measures, low-carbon technologies, and retrofits to enhance efficiency and reduce carbon intensity across mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with Development, Engineering, and Asset Management teams to integrate sustainable mechanical design principles into new and existing projects.
  • Track and report performance against key sustainability indicators, ensuring data integrity for audits, financial disclosures, and progress toward Net Zero targets.


Desired Candidate Profile

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, systems thinking, and data governance capabilities applied to mechanical engineering and environmental performance.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills across technical, operational, and executive teams.
  • Apply experience in interpreting technical performance data, conducting energy audits, and managing multi-asset mechanical systems within real estate or built environment contexts.
  • Hold a bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering (master s or professional certification in Energy, Building Services, or Sustainability preferred) with 5 8 years of relevant experience.
