Roles & Responsibilities
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Agricultural Trader to join our dynamic Trading Division.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in physical soft commodity (cacao/cocoa) trading across MENA and
international markets, particularly West Africa, Europe, and/or Southeast Asia. This role will involve
managing end-to-end trading operations, building strong supplier and buyer networks, and delivering
on strategic sourcing and margin objectives.
Desired Candidate Profile
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead physical trading of cocoa beans and derivatives, from origination to sales (B2B sales).
• Develop and manage supplier relationships across key sourcing regions (e.g., Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria).
• Maintain and expand buyer networks in the UAE, GCC, and global markets.
• Monitor commodity markets, pricing trends, and geopolitical impacts to make informed trading decisions.
• Execute purchase and sales contracts, ensuring timely delivery, compliance, and quality control.
• Coordinate closely with logistics, finance, and risk teams to manage trade execution and settlement.
• Analyze P&L for each trade and provide regular market intelligence reports.
• Identify new trading opportunities and market entry strategies in emerging regions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import/export regulations, trade compliance, and cocoa grading standards.
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences, building brand visibility and relationships.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5–7 years of hands-on trading experience in cacao/soft/Agri-commodities, with at least 3 years focused on GCC/Global markets.
• Strong understanding of physical commodity trading, supply chains, and market dynamics.
• Experience working with African and Latin American origins is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage risk, pricing strategies, and contract execution.
• The existing network of suppliers and buyers across international markets is a strong plus.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in trade-related systems and Microsoft Excel: ERP or trading software experience is preferred.
• Willingness to travel for sourcing and market development as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in international Trade, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Prior experience in a trading house, commodity brokerage, or multinational trading firm.
