Roles & Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE:
To coordinate with and support Shift Charge Engineer in the operation of the Power Plant and specifically to monitor the activities of the field.
To assist the SCE & CRE in safe isolation and normalization of HV and LV systems.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Operate and service the power generation equipment to enable the safe and efficient supply of electric power to satisfy the requirement of EMAL site.
* Operate and service the compressed air plant to enable the continuous generation of compressed air to satisfy power plant needs.
* Operate and service the Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) to enable the uninterrupted supply of steam to satisfy operational requirements.
* Manage the Permit to Work and equipment isolation for the power plant to ensure maintenance and service work can be carried out safely.
* Carry out high voltage and low voltage switching from the switchgears on the field as instructed by SCE/CRE.
* Ensure that all shift personnel strictly adhere to all safety policies, practices and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
* Ensure that all shift personnel are trained across the operations areas to carry out all duties in a safe and effective manner.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
* Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor?s Degree or Technical Graduate in Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Power Plant or related Engineering field.
* Minimum Experience:
* 7 Years operator experience, out of which 2 years spent in supervisory position in Control Room or field in a large powerhouse.
* Skills:
* Aptitude understanding process systems, GE MK Vie, Fuji HMI, Water treatment plant, Fault investigation analysis, Emergency intervention. Strong leadership and communication skills. Basic knowledge in MS office applications. Remains calm, prepared and decisive during emergency situations.
