Senior Officer - Crypto Controls & Assurance Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX)

Role Summary:

Reviewing and monitoring of all crypto related licenses to DMCC Companies. Responsibility for assisting in monitoring compliance with DMCCA s rules, regulations, policies and programs and understanding the UAE and Dubai regulatory guidelines for VASPs.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing a policy framework that incorporates local and international law and best practices (as applicable) for crypto related licenses issued by DMCC with the assistance of Head of Compliance Operations.
• Effective implementation of policy framework into business procedures and processes to support strategic and business objectives with the assistance of Head of Compliance Operations.
• Reviewing all new questionnaires for crypto related licenses issued by DMCC. Providing feedback on such questionnaires including deficiencies to the BSE team and also the DMCC Crypto centre where applicable with the assistance of Head of Compliance Operations.
• Ensuring a consistent approach to the review and approval of license questionnaires.
• Attending internal meetings to ensure knowledge and understanding of the license requirements.
• Reviewing the parameters of existing licenses issued by DMCC in the crypto sector.
• Analysing VASP regulation to determine the possibility of creating further licenses within the crypto sector.
• Reviewing existing DMCC Member Companies with crypto related licenses in respect to Activity being undertaken, i.e. Remote Inspections, review of websites etc.
• Highlighting and deficiencies or potential noncompliance with license activities.
• Liaising with the Compliance inspection team to rectify any outstanding issues.
• Handling member company enquiries in respect to crypto related issues.
• Meetings with the VASP Regulators to provide information and to determine the parameters of regulation in order to provide information to DMCC Member Companies.
• Assisting in handling any issues with the Regulators.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor, or master s degree from a reputed university an advantage.
• Compliance and risk certifications preferred
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in crypto related activities preferably in a compliance, risk management or control position
• Crypto knowledge. Familiarity with UAE crypto laws, customs and practices (knowledge of multiple jurisdictions beneficial)
• AML / CFT and applicable international sanction regimes
• Knowledge of international developments in crypto assets.
