Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

- Lead the planning, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of all mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, domestic water, BMS).

- Perform detailed engineering calculations (cooling/heating loads, pump head, pipe sizing, pressure drop, etc.) and provide expert technical guidance to the project team.

- Prepare, review, and obtain approvals for Material Submittals, Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in strict compliance with project specifications, consultant requirements, and Dubai Municipality/DEWA/Civil Defence regulations.

- Review, coordinate, and approve Shop Drawings & Combined Services Drawings, ensuring full compliance with design intent, authority regulations, and clash-free coordination with architectural, structural, electrical, and ID disciplines.

- Conduct thorough design reviews of consultant drawings, identify discrepancies, and raise timely RFIs/RFCs to resolve conflicts at the earliest stage.

- Ensure 100% compliance of all mechanical works with project specifications, local codes (Dubai Green Building Regulations, DEWA, Civil Defence), and international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, BS EN).

- Provide strong system expertise across Chilled Water Systems (airside & waterside), Plumbing & Drainage, Domestic Water Supply, Central Hot Water & Filtration, Firefighting Systems, and BMS integration.

- Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex mechanical and control system issues during construction and commissioning phases.

- Oversee and witness testing, balancing, and commissioning of all mechanical systems, ensuring handover with zero snags and full operational performance.

- Drive value engineering and cost-optimization initiatives while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

- Act as the primary point of contact for mechanical discipline with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for technical clarifications and approvals.

- Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers and site supervisors, fostering knowledge transfer and team development.

- Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and risk registers to senior management and clients.

- Continuously monitor project schedules and budgets related to mechanical scope, highlighting risks and proposing corrective actions.

- Ensure all mechanical documentation (as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test certificates) is accurately compiled and handed over on time.



Desired Candidate Profile

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (recognized by UAE Ministry of Education).

- 5–8 years of relevant experience in MEP contracting, preferably on high-rise/commercial projects in the UAE.

- Excellent command of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Elite, and MS Office.

- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
