Job Description


Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales Director is responsible for planning and managing the hotel's sales and marketing, with the aim of optimizing occupancy rates. Their mission is to maximize revenue and achieve/exceed the hotel's profitability targets.

The Sales Director is responsible for all hotel revenues, including group and transient accommodations, group catering, meeting room rentals, hotel food service, and other revenues. He actively contributes to and participates in yield management strategies and oversees the reservation department. The strategies he develops concern the market mix, pricing, status, direct sales, and marketing.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all commercial activities dedicated to groups, transient guests and catering/banqueting, with a view to maximizing the hotel's revenues
  • Prepare, exploit and compile data for sales strategy, monthly reports, annual objectives, sales and marketing budget, forecasts and other reports, in accordance with instructions/needs
  • Study, review and analyze the competitive environment, market trends, and customer needs and feedback to demonstrate initiative and adapt strategically
  • Develop new programs and strategies, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and strategies
  • Manage/lead all advertising, public relations and promotional activities in conjunction with the Group's Public Relations and Marketing departments
  • Actively participate in sales presentations, site visits and customer meetings
  • Ensure optimal compliance with the group's audit strategy
  • Manage performance issues that arise within the sales and reservation teams
  • Ensure that service members are hired, trained, motivated, mentored, advised and developed as required
  • Communicate effectively with other departments
  • Meet daily with the department to discuss key activities of the moment
  • Assess changes in customer needs, customer composition and the competitive landscape, in order to propose operational and product/service changes as appropriate
  • Ensure the satisfaction of hotel employees and guests, while remaining competitive in the market and exceptionally efficient financially
  • Anticipate and resolve customer issues and implement proactive processes to promote customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in professional and community organizations to ensure high visibility and promote a positive image
  • To be a source of inspiration for all hotel staff in order to encourage them to deliver performances worthy of a luxury establishment
  • Interact positively with all team members to ensure guests receive the welcome expected of a luxury establishment
  • Lead by example by scrupulously respecting Sofitel Values, brand codes and guidelines regarding dress and presentation
