Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Review and analysis of the tender requirements from all aspects of technical, performance, and operational needs to develop technically compliant and cost-effective CHS and BHS solutions.
  • Define and prepare the electrical and control philosophy and associated costs for inclusion in the overall price.
  • Develop detailed electrical proposals for CHS and BHS, including power distribution, control systems, automation, and safety systems.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate electrical components (cabinets, drives, etc.) based on client specifications, project scope, and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze material flow/capacity assessments, capturing the key performance & design parameters to validate the system concepts
  • Generate the technical and commercial proposal documentation to be submitted.
  • Prepare cost estimates for electrical equipment, installation, and testing, ensuring alignment with budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure electrical designs are fully integrated into the overall material handling system.
  • Prepare BOQs & BOMs to support the estimation function.
  • Facilitate the development of 3D system solutions using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks in coordination with the team.
  • Value Engineering of the system design to develop cost-effective system solutions for all Bids & Proposals, including selecting OEM system components, input on pricing estimates, manpower plans, and associated phasing/scheduling activities.
  • Write an explanation of the system function and operation for inclusion in the offer documentation.
  • Collaborate and present to other industry experts, consultants, clients, and subcontractors on the technical aspects of the system design.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, security, environmental, and quality standards, adhering to all relevant regulations and best practices to maintain a safe and secure work environment.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree preferable in Electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of Bid/Proposals/Engineering experience in Airport Material Handling Systems with priority to Cargo Handling Systems and Baggage Handling Systems.
  • Experience in building electrical concepts for Material Handling Systems
  • Able to demonstrate experience in reviewing/analyzing tender requirements from all aspects of technical, performance, and operational needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders/management.
  • Able to develop reputation/relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate any key situations where you have positively impacted the system solution and subsequent contract award.
