Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Procurement Manager – MEP oversees all procurement activities for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across the project. This includes strategy development, sourcing, technical evaluation, negotiation, vendor coordination, and delivery management. The role ensures timely availability of materials and services, meeting budget, quality, and schedule requirements. Acting as a bridge between engineering, commercial, logistics, and execution teams, the Procurement Manager – MEP ensures seamless project delivery across multiple zones.

  • Identify procurement risks, implement mitigation plans, and escalate critical issues.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the MEP procurement team; maintain strong internal and vendor communication.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop project-specific MEP procurement plans aligned with construction strategy.
  • Prequalify, engage, and manage vendors, subcontractors, and manufacturers.
  • Float RFQs, compare quotations, and perform technical-commercial evaluations.
  • Negotiate contracts, issue purchase orders, and manage subcontracts.
  • Ensure timely approvals, submittals, and sample coordination.
  • Expedite deliveries, monitor lead times, and maintain schedules.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delay, or documentation.
  • Maintain vendor databases and assess supplier performance.
  • Support procurement audits and project closeout documentation.

General Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to company policies, code of conduct, and QHSE standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and sensitive project information.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports, balanced scorecards, and documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Professional procurement certifications (CIPS, PMP, CSCP) preferred.
  • 6–8 years of relevant industry experience, including 2–4 years in a similar procurement role.
  • Experience in mega projects (AED 500M+) and multi-zone execution strategies.
  • Exposure to authority-compliant material sourcing (DEWA, SEWA, DCD).
  • Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts and vendor contract management.

Skills:

  • Technical: MEP systems knowledge, ERP proficiency (Oracle/SAP), procurement documentation.
  • Hard: Vendor evaluation, negotiation, procurement planning, commercial analysis.
  • Soft: Stakeholder management, analytical thinking, decision-making, time management.
