Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Procurement Planning & Strategy
- Develop procurement strategies based on project requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and cost control teams to forecast material needs.
- Ensure materials and services are sourced in compliance with project specifications and budget constraints.
2. Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Identify and prequalify reliable suppliers and subcontractors for civil construction materials.
- Conduct market research to assess price trends, material availability, and supplier performance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely and quality deliveries.
3. Tendering & Negotiation
- Prepare Request for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and tenders.
- Evaluate supplier bids based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
4. Contract Management
- Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts in coordination with legal and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and enforce contract conditions if necessary.
5. Material & Inventory Management
- Ensure materials are delivered on time to prevent project delays.
- Coordinate with site teams to manage material storage, quality control, and utilization.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder critical materials when necessary.
6. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure that procured materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Work with quality control teams to inspect materials and resolve non-compliance issues.
- Stay updated on local and international construction material standards and certifications.
7. Cost Control & Budgeting
- Track procurement expenses and ensure purchases align with project budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and value engineering.
- Work closely with finance teams to process payments and maintain financial records.
8. Coordination & Reporting
- Provide regular procurement reports to management and project teams.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to manage material deliveries and customs clearance (if applicable).
- Address any procurement-related challenges that may impact project progress.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Diploma can be considered based on experience.
- Certifications in procurement, supply chain management, or contract management (e.g., CIPS, PMP, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- 4+ years of experience in procurement, specifically in civil construction of high rise buildings.
