Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

Regulatory Compliance

  • To abide by all ministerial and Dubai Health Authority regulations in the storage, preparation, and dispensing of medications
  • Comply with all pharmacy laws and Hospital Code of Conduct

Stock and Inventory Management

  • Maintain proper daily physical stock in Inpatient and Outpatient as per requirements
  • Fill the Omnicell and maintain it on a regular basis
  • Support and participate in scheduled cycle counts and physical inventory according to organization protocol

Dispensing and Workflow Support

  • In response to medication orders, correctly prepare medications before dispensing by licensed pharmacist
  • To help streamline pharmacy workflow as per the situation and condition
  • Receiving, checking, and preparing prescriptions in Outpatient and medication orders in Inpatient
  • Review prescriptions and apply medication appropriateness, dispensing to patients under pharmacist supervision in Inpatient and Outpatient, and provide appropriate counseling to patients according to organization policy

Patient and Team Interaction

  • Establish good rapport with team and patients
  • Help in applying for prescription approvals and bill prescriptions if the situation requires

Cleanroom and Equipment Maintenance

  • Disinfecting and maintaining hygiene protocol within Intravenous clean room and ante room
  • Clean pharmacy equipment especially in Inpatient pharmacy, and follow up with the maintenance of patient s equipment in Outpatient pharmacy

Financial Responsibility

  • Handle payment collection from patients in a responsible manner, ensuring correct allocation of received payment and deposit to finance team
  • Ensuring all deposits and outstanding collections are settled in a timely manner

  • Comply with all organizational and departmental policies, procedures, legal requirements, and applicable regulations at all times, and take personal responsibility to read, understand, follow and keep updated with the latest versions.
  • Avoid and report any actions that may cause financial loss, reputational damage, or breach of trust to the organization, including fraud, dishonesty, or misrepresentation, which may result in disciplinary action, termination, and legal liability.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all organizational, patient, client, and employee information in accordance with policies and laws.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education & Qualification

  • UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA).
  • Diploma in Pharmacy program (Minimum two years course duration)

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years experience post qualification in related field

Training, Knowledge & Skills

  • Awareness and understanding of King s College Hospital (KCH) policies and initiatives.
  • Resuscitation Certificate as per the specialty& Demonstrable ongoing and active Continues Personal Development (CPD)
  • Supports quality patient care by showing empathy, maintaining patient dignity, and following proper protocols.
  • Supports and guides junior team members, offering advice and assistance if required.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to manage digital documentation and communication effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated with strong internal work standards; sets realistic goals for self and supports others in achieving team objectives.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, ensuring goals are met in dynamic environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage unexpected issues and identify when to escalate.
  • Maintains professional and personal credibility across all staff groups.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
