Job Description

The Payroll Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that an organization s payroll operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires overseeing the payroll department's day-to-day activities, ensuring that all payroll-related processes meet compliance regulations, and ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery for all employees. The Payroll Supervisor must possess a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. They must also be adept at problem-solving, able to manage conflicting priorities, and demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive employee information. As the leader of the payroll team, the Payroll Supervisor will also be responsible for training and mentoring payroll staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the payroll department to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
  • Maintain and update payroll records and ensure data integrity.
  • Coordinate and manage employee payroll inquiries and problem resolution efficiently.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures for increased effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Prepare and submit timely payroll reports to management and various stakeholders.
  • Lead payroll software implementations and enhancements to optimize processes.
  • Train and mentor payroll staff to improve performance and foster development.
  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate and support company initiatives.
  • Manage payroll vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective solutions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management or supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and IRS regulations is required.
  • Proficient in using payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills are critical for success.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities with proven experience.
