Roles & Responsibilities
As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and executing the payroll processes for our organization. Your responsibilities will encompass checking payroll data accuracy, processing payroll transactions, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will serve as a point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of tax and wage laws. You will also contribute to the preparation of payroll reports, which will be utilized by the HR and Finance departments. A successful Payroll Specialist should possess excellent organization skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a dedication to maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain payroll operations ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.
- Review and verify payroll data for accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Provide assistance in the preparation of payroll documentation and reports.
- Ensure timely processing of changes to payroll records, such as new hires and terminations.
- Calculate employee pay, considering hours worked and overtime regulations.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments on payroll and taxation issues.
- Stay updated on payroll tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll records and employee information.
- Implement improvements to payroll processes for increased efficiency.
- Conduct audits to ensure payroll accuracy and integrity of the system.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role.
- Thorough knowledge of payroll processes and understanding of tax regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for accuracy.
- Proficiency in using payroll software, such as ADP or Paychex, required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
