Network Support Engineer - Security Systems Job Description: Job Summary:We are looking for a knowledgeable Network Support Engineer with expertise in Linux OS, security systems, specifically in configuring and maintaining edge devices and network integrations for MDVR/DVR systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in network management and troubleshooting to ensure continuous system performance and reliability. Responsibilities: Configure, maintain, and monitor NVRs, DVRs, MDVRs, and edge devices. Ensure continuous system uptime and reliable performance of video surveillance infrastructure and network connectivity. Troubleshoot and resolve network, routing, and device-level issues across LAN/WAN environments. Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate surveillance systems seamlessly with existing network infrastructure. Perform network performance assessments, capacity planning, and implement system optimizations to enhance reliability and security. Utilize infrastructure monitoring tools to track uptime, bandwidth utilization, and device health. Administer and maintain Linux-based systems used for network management, logging, and storage. Develop and maintain technical documentation including configuration details, network diagrams, and operational procedures. Provide on-site or remote technical support during system disruptions, performing root cause analysis and recovery actions. Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in networking, specifically related to security systems and edge device management. In-depth knowledge of IP networking, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and VLAN configurations. Proficiency with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Rocky, or CentOS preferred). Hands-on experience with NVRs, DVRs, MDVRs, and IP-based surveillance systems. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network problems efficiently. Technical certification in network administration or electronic security systems is preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Education: Associate s or bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience: 4+ years in a technical support or network engineer role with a focus on security systems.
