Description

WTW currently seeking to recruit an Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Risk Engineer based in Dubai to join our rapidly expanding Natural Resources property and Casualty team.

The role will involve managing accounts for multi-national organisations primarily in downstream oil refineries, gas processing, LNG and petrochemicals industry sectors but will be supplemented with survey work in other industries. Excellent knowledge of oil refinery / petrochemical processes and logistics, operations, asset integrity activities (maintenance & inspection), and process safety management; plus international codes & standards is highly desirable

Role

  • Develop and lead risk engineering strategies;
  • Develop risk engineering programmes for insured clients taking into consideration the needs of all stakeholders (e.g. insureds, insurers, broking team, etc);
  • Arrange individual risk engineering surveys through discussions with account teams, insureds and market engineers
  • Coordinate and manage the execution of surveys on a global basis to the satisfaction of insureds;
  • Prepare marketing risk assessment reports to assist in the placement of client insurance programmes. Reports will follow the WTW standard structure and contain key understanding of the hazards at facilities and how the management team are controlling/mitigating their impact. Presentation of risk improvements and loss calculations is also required;
  • Calculate loss expectancies within company guidelines across a range of industries;
  • Ensure that all reports and other deliverables are prepared and ready in a timely manner;
  • Provide technical support to clients and the broking team across a range of issues relating to good industry practices;
  • Maintain all risk management team tracking tools such as schedules and planning spread sheets
  • Present WTW publications: Market Security Reports, coverage alerts, industry trends

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working within the Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals industry. this experience can be in a variety of roles including operations, technical, engineering, maintenance or HSE;
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Additional qualifications in risk management or relevant accreditations would be considered favourably
  • Experience of working with international engineering standards and codes such API, ASME, IEEE, NFPA, ANSI;
  • Proven ability to write detailed reports of a varied technical nature
  • Working knowledge of fire protection and detection systems would be consider;
