We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Medical Coder for outpatient (OP) services to join our healthcare team. • Analyze outpatient documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Utilize ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems to code outpatient services accurately.
• Collaborate with medical professionals to understand services provided to patients.
• Verify and ensure coding compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.
• Submit coded information to billing systems for reimbursement processing and validation.
• Review and resolve coding errors and discrepancies via ongoing audits and analysis.
• Maintain open communication with healthcare providers regarding documentation improvements.
• Stay updated on changes in coding regulations and healthcare billing practices.
• Assist in the training of new medical coders or healthcare staff members as needed.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the coding department.
• Compile data and generate reports to track coding accuracy and financial impact.
• Safeguard patient confidentiality by adhering to all data protection protocols.

• Certification in medical coding such as CPC, COC, or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of two years' experience in outpatient medical coding in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines and practices.
• Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy in coding.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
