Job Description

A Mechanical BIM Modeler is a crucial player in the field of construction and engineering, responsible for developing Building Information Models that serve as a digital representation of the physical and functional characteristics of a facility. By utilizing advanced software such as Revit, these professionals ensure that complex mechanical systems are meticulously planned and executed. Their role is pivotal in coordinating with architects, engineers, and construction teams to guarantee seamless integration of mechanical designs into comprehensive BIM models. Responsibilities
  • Create detailed mechanical BIM models using software like Revit and Navisworks.
  • Coordinate with architects and structural engineers to integrate mechanical designs.
  • Review project specifications and requirements to adhere to quality standards.
  • Identify potential design conflicts and suggest effective solutions preemptively.
  • Utilize clash detection tools to solve inter-disciplinary coordination issues.
  • Collaborate with project teams to prepare and update project documentation.
  • Ensure quality control of mechanical elements in BIM models and drawings.
  • Perform thorough checks of models to ensure accuracy and compliance with BIM standards.
  • Assist in developing BIM execution plans and strategies for mechanical designs.
  • Manage model changes and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
  • Attend project meetings to discuss model progress and resolve ongoing issues.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in BIM modeling, specifically for mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM-related software packages is essential.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and construction processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration and documentation.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards for the mechanical engineering sector.
  • Strong attention to detail and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
