Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

This is a strategic leadership position reporting to the Global Business Unit VP Operations & Supply Chain with a strong dotted line to Measurement Solutions BU VP in MEA. The leader will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team in UAE and KSA while exemplifying Emerson s Core Values of Safety & Quality, Integrity and Support Our People.

The Director of Operations will play a critical role in leading Middle East & Africa s strategic initiatives around product localization, QuickShip & Repair services, Technology Transfer projects, adoption of global manufacturing best practices while working collaboratively with World Area Leadership, Customer Care, Sales & Product Marketing and Finance teams.

The Operations Director will oversee all aspects related to Manufacturing Operations for the Measurement Solutions Business Unit across Middle East & Africa with direct responsibility over Quality, HSE, Logistics and Supply Chain functions across two manufacturing locations in UAE and KSA.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Daily Operations Management:

  • Ensure Equipment and Labor capacity are available to execute Customer Orders on Daily basis to meet Service Level, POR and Productivity targets

  • Identify and minimize risks of orders delay to Requested Date for MRO and PMO Backlog

  • Shipping and Warehouse management

  • Level Loading Backlog to Capacity by managing ATP/CTP setup and Order Rescheduling

  • Short Term Production planning and alignment between Manufacturing, Customer Care and Supply Chain

  • Issue resolution for Business System, Equipment, Product Quality etc.

  • Drive the monthly Build Plan process and weekly overdue past due backlog reviews

Supply Chain and Logistics:

  • Drive Cost Reduction and Cost Avoidance on Buyout Items by early engagement with Proposal Team at Quote stage, utilizing online bidding events and create competitive environment for Suppliers

  • Supplier Management for Buyouts: Supplier Performance Review, New Suppliers Qualification

  • Purchase components and material from External and Intercompany Suppliers and align with Global Supply Chain and Best Sourcing opportunities from cost and speed perspectives

  • Inventory Optimization and Material Safety Stock to minimize Production Stockouts and ensure Material Availability

  • Arbitrate decisions around Direct Sourcing from External Suppliers vs Intercompany

  • Ensure robust and effective Incoming Inspection process and tools in place

  • Cost optimization for Inbound and Outbound Shipments by using effective mode of shipments and Freight Forwarder selection

  • Ensure imports/ exports processes comply with Customs and JAFZA requirements

  • SABER, FANR approval, Jafza Customs Reconciliation and Other Country Specific Shipments approvals

  • Ensure internal on time delivery of receiving, kitting, picking and shipping operations

Leadership and people management:

  • Represent MEA Operations in all MEA and international business setting

  • Foster people development through the Emerson HR process such as Talent Review, Organization Review

  • Execute the Performance Management process through vision and goal setting, continuous feedback and coaching and merit review

  • Continuously work on the succession planning for MEA Operations leadership to emerge the next generation of leaders

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Proven management responsibility and management experience in manufacturing operations

  • Minimum 10 years of Operations or Supply Chain experience with strong track record in successful operational leadership role.

  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent in technical, operational, supply chain or related business field

  • Excellent knowledge in various operations tools, business system, supply chain, management process, KPIs etc to drive operational excellence.

  • Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment policies as laid by the organization
