As a Lead Aircraft Mechanic (Painting) you will carry out approved maintenance, repair, repaint or partial repaint to aircraft structure / cabin interior and to components removed from aircraft within aircraft paint shop / workshop in accordance with approved documentation and to correct quality standards.
In this role you will:
- To carry out approved maintenance, repair, repaint or partial repaint to aircraft structure and to components removed from aircraft within aircraft paint shop / workshop in accordance with approved documentation and to correct quality standards.
- To carry out all work only after ensuring that all safety precautions are in place.
- To prioritise workload on daily basis in conjunction with Aircraft Appearance Engineer / Licensed Aircraft Engineer.
- Responsible for supervision of mechanics and cleaner/helpers in aircraft paint shop area.
- To ensure that the workshop environment and any working area is kept in a clean and tidy manner.
- To carry out instructions of supervising engineers in respect of specific job requirements.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly used and maintained in good condition.
- To certify for work carried out when holding the appropriate approval.
QualificationTo be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Vocational or Diploma (12+2 or equivalent)
- Higher / National Diploma or Apprenticeship in Engineering, Automotive or a related industry or equivalent training with a reputable airline, approved maintenance organisation or Air Force.
- 3+ years experience of Aircraft maintenance in painting with an airline or an approved aircraft maintenance organisation or equivalent formal training in an Air Force with post training experience in an aircraft maintenance painting capacity.
- An in-depth knowledge of maintenance safety, human factors and general engineering practices is an essential requirement.
