Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize laboratory equipment and materials as per the schedule of practical classes.
  • Assist science teachers during laboratory sessions and student assessments.
  • Provide support to students during experiments, ensuring proper usage of tools and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Reset the laboratory after use and ensure readiness for subsequent sessions.

Inventory & Equipment Maintenance:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of chemicals, specimens, glassware, and scientific instruments.
  • Conduct regular inspections and perform basic maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for required consumables and apparatus.

Safety Compliance & Protocols:

  • Enforce laboratory safety standards and ensure students use appropriate protective equipment.
  • Handle hazardous materials responsibly and ensure safe storage and disposal.
  • Assist in basic safety drills and instruct students in emergency procedures.

Documentation & Coordination:

  • Maintain logs for lab usage, student attendance, and experiment completion.
  • Support teachers with documentation such as lab manuals, observation records, and report sheets.
  • Help coordinate science-related events such as exhibitions, fairs, and competitions.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Certification/diploma in laboratory technology, science, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a lab assistant in a school or academic institution.
  • Familiarity with handling Physics, Chemistry, and Biology lab environments at the school level.

Visa Status:

  • Candidates with Spouse Visa, Own Visa, or Employment Visa are preferred.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, tools, and safety practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with teaching staff and students.
  • Responsible, proactive, and capable of multitasking with minimal supervision.
