Job Description

The Junior Salesman in Freight Forwarding is an essential role that drives growth and success for the company by increasing sales within the logistics and shipping sector. This position requires a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who can support the sales team in expanding the client base, managing client relations, and providing an exceptional level of customer service. The Junior Salesman is responsible for learning and understanding freight forwarding operations and translating that knowledge into effective sales strategies. This role offers a perfect entry point into the field of logistics, presenting opportunities to collaborate with a seasoned sales team and develop vital skills in sales, marketing, and customer relationship management. Success in this position will depend on the Junior Salesman's ability to be proactive, goal-oriented, and adaptable while advocating for the company's services to potential clients.


Responsibilities
  • Assist the sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Support the development and execution of strategic sales plans and goals.
  • Conduct market research to understand trends and discover potential leads.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of sales activities and client interactions.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients.
  • Facilitate effective communication between clients and the operations team.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting sales contracts and proposals.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions to enhance sales techniques.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Continuously update personal knowledge of freight forwarding services.
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics to the sales manager.
  • Provide exceptional service and support to clients to ensure satisfaction.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in sales, preferably within the logistics industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in paperwork.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and attend industry events.
