Job Description

The IT Operations & Support Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the seamless operation of an organization's technology infrastructure. This professional is responsible for ensuring optimal performance of hardware, software, and networking components to support daily business activities. As an IT Operations & Support Technician, you will provide frontline assistance for IT-related issues, ensuring quick resolutions to maximize system uptime. You will also participate in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems. Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage the organization's IT infrastructure to ensure its optimal performance.
  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users to resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and networks to meet operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies and system upgrades.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to IT operations, procedures, and user guides.
  • Respond to IT-related queries and troubleshoot technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform regular system backups and data recovery operations to protect organizational data.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain system security.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining software licenses and renewal processes.
  • Perform regular checks on system security and update antivirus and malware protections.
  • Participate in the development and testing of disaster recovery plans to safeguard IT assets.
  • Stay informed about emerging IT technologies and industry trends to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an IT Technician, IT Support Specialist, or similar role in the IT industry.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques for various IT systems and software.
  • Experience with installing and configuring Windows and Linux-based operating systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on providing effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional are a plus.
