Keep VARA and counterparties comfortable by establishing a strong internal compliance framework from day one.

Why this role is different

This is a new global tokenisation project and compliance is one of the most critical pillars. As Internal Compliance Officer, you will set up policies and controls from scratch, working closely with founders, auditors, and regulators. It is a fractional role with significant ownership you will be the one to ensure regulatory credibility and operational trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance Program: Draft and operate KYC/KYB, Travel Rule, sanctions screening, market abuse policies, and incident runbooks
• Custody & Controls: Oversee Fireblocks policy engine and address whitelists
• Audit & Regulatory Coordination: Coordinate with auditors and VARA for smooth compliance readiness
• Documentation: Maintain dor sourcing flows (Ghana), refiner DGD/LBMA evidence, and redemption SOPs
  

First 90-Day Deliverables

• Complete policy library
• Standardised onboarding checklists for counterparties and customers
• Internal audit readiness for first review
  

Must-Have Experience

• 6+ years in compliance, with exposure to regulated financial, fintech, or crypto environments
• Strong knowledge of KYC/KYB, AML/CFT, sanctions, and Travel Rule requirements
• Hands-on experience drafting compliance programs, policies, or audit frameworks
• Comfort working with custody systems, Fireblocks policy engines, or equivalent controls is a plus
