Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The role is responsible for performing and assisting in planning and completing of financial and operational audits and identifying inadequate, inefficient, or ineffective internal controls as well as recommending improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing risk- based audit plan based on an annually updated risk register.
  • Assist in developing engagement plans in line with the approved annual plans, IIA Standards and flyadeal s IA policies and procedures.
  • Support the development of special assignments requested by the Audit Committee.
  • Prepare or assist in the implementation of engagement work programmes that is consistent with the scope and objectives of the audit.
  • Support the execution of the department s objectives, initiatives, plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to conduct or assist in audit projects and consulting engagements by the established methodology and within budgeted timeframes.
  • Perform audit procedures, such as identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analysing evidence, and documenting processes.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of draft reports and write clear and concise internal audit findings for executive management, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors.
  • Participate in risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement in departmental systems.
  • Examine internal controls, evaluate the design and operational effectiveness, determine exposure to risk, and develop remediation strategies.
  • Prepare or assist in the development of clear, constructive, and actionable recommendations to address risks identified.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing the quarterly IA report to the Audit Committee.
  • Develop and maintain productive and effective relationships throughout the company and within the department and ensuring the project objectives and the client expectations are explained and managed.
  • Attend relevant accredited training wherever possible, making full use of specialist Internal Auditing research tools acquired by the department.
  • Ensure the documentation of audit work results are in accordance with flyadeal s Internal Audit policies and procedures as well as the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards.
  • Assist in the implementation of a centralized database to track audit reviews and follow-up of action plans.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and improvement programme and contributes to the development of improved internal auditing processes.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide support by providing required information.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in business Admin., Finance, Accounting, or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Professional Certification (i.e., CIA, CPA, or CA) is a plus.
  • Certified ISO 27001 is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with a Professional Certification.
  • Experience of aviation and low-cost carriers business models and core Aviation Operations is a plus.
