Job Description

An Instrumentation and Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and function of instrumentation and control systems within an industrial setting. This key role requires thorough inspections, testing, and verification of equipment to meet industry standards and regulations. They work closely with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee that all control and instrumentation systems operate safely, efficiently, and effectively. This position demands a strong understanding of instrumentation technologies, control systems, and inspection processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the capability to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of all instrumentation and control systems within the facility.
  • Ensure all equipment and systems comply with established industry standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with engineers to review and verify instrumentation installation and schematics.
  • Perform routine and non-routine testing of control systems for optimal performance.
  • Document and report any discrepancies or deficiencies in the instrumentation setup.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all inspections, tests, and system evaluations.
  • Assist in the calibration of instruments to maintain accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct safety inspections to prevent hazards associated with control systems.
  • Provide technical support and advice during instrumentation and system upgrades.
  • Liaise with contractors and vendors to ensure equipment meets quality standards.
  • Stay informed about advances in instrumentation technology and industry best practices.
  • Recommend improvements and upgrades to enhance system performance and reliability.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Technology, Control Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in instrumentation and control inspection work.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation technology, control systems, and industry standards.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to instrumentation systems.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and software related to instrumentation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
