Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Inspect, dismantle, clean, and assess industrial gearboxes for wear, damage, and malfunction.
  • Repair or replace damaged gears, bearings, seals, shafts, and related components.
  • Assemble and align gearboxes according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and lubrication of gearboxes in accordance with schedules.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical faults and recommend repair solutions.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate job records, including repair details, parts used, and time logs.
  • Work on-site for gearbox removal, installation, and commissioning when required.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education: Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience repairing industrial gearboxes (knowledge of brands such as Bonfiglioli, Brevini, Flender, Hyosung, ZF, Wikov, etc. preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, seals, and lubrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Skilled in precision measurement and alignment techniques.
  • Welding, machining, or fabrication skills will be an advantage.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy components and work in workshop/site environments.
