Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement effective health and safety policies tailored to specific work environments and industries.
- Provide training sessions and workshops to educate employees on health and safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of safety initiatives, using data to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with management to integrate health and safety considerations into all business operations and decision-making.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of safety-related incidents to regulatory bodies in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices to provide expert guidance.
- Facilitate regular safety meetings to engage employees and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Act as a liaison between management and workers to address safety concerns and foster open communication.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is essential.
- Certification such as NEBOSH or IOSH is highly preferred for demonstrating professional expertise.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in HSE roles within construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas industries.
- Experience with the implementation of safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies is crucial.
- Familiarity with local and international health and safety legislation is required to ensure compliance.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage in diverse workplaces.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret safety data and make informed recommendations for improvements.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective training and fostering teamwork among employees.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities to address safety concerns before they escalate into serious issues.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing work environments, demonstrating resilience and initiative.
