Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE plans and strategies specifically tailored to RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) projects, ensuring alignment with local regulations and international best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and unsafe practices, focusing on RTA project-specific risks such as traffic management and public safety.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis for all HSE-related incidents, ensuring thoroughness and the implementation of effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence within RTA projects.
  • Provide expert HSE advice and guidance to project teams, including contractors, on all aspects of HSE management, with a focus on the unique challenges of RTA infrastructure projects.
  • Manage and maintain HSE documentation, including permits, licenses, and training records, ensuring compliance with RTA requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs tailored to the needs of RTA project personnel, including topics such as traffic management, working at height, and confined space entry.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE programs and initiatives, making recommendations for improvement and ensuring continuous improvement within RTA projects.
  • Liaise with RTA authorities and other stakeholders on HSE matters, building strong relationships and ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee the management of hazardous materials and waste, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal in accordance with RTA regulations and environmental standards.
  • Promote a positive HSE culture throughout the project, encouraging employee engagement and participation in HSE initiatives within the context of RTA projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent international HSE certification is essential.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE management, with at least 7 years specifically in RTA infrastructure projects.
  • Preference for candidates with experience working on major road and transport projects within the UAE.
  • Strong understanding of UAE labor laws, RTA regulations, and international HSE standards (e.g., ISO .
  • Proficiency in using HSE software and tools, including risk assessment software and incident reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage HSE teams, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate hazards effectively.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to travel to project sites.
