Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE plans and procedures specifically tailored to infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with local regulations and international best practices.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard identification, focusing on the unique challenges presented by infrastructure construction, such as excavations, heavy machinery operation, and public interface.
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day HSE activities on-site, providing guidance and support to project teams to ensure compliance and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective and preventive actions, focusing on preventing recurrence and improving safety performance.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, and ensure effective implementation of safety measures.
- Deliver engaging and impactful HSE training programs to all levels of personnel, focusing on practical application and behavioral safety principles.
- Manage and maintain HSE documentation, including permits, licenses, and records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate HSE considerations into all phases of the project, from design to completion.
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance data, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and providing regular reports to management.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest HSE regulations, industry standards, and best practices, and proactively implement necessary changes.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Possession of relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent is essential.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in HSE roles within the infrastructure or construction industry.
- Proven experience in managing HSE aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects, including roads and utilities.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant local and international HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
