Roles & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Drives a variety of heavy and light duty vehicles/equipment safely and efficiently.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Right to stop a job if the work is unsafe and report to dispatch/OSC HSE section.
  • Drive heavy/light duty vehicles/equipment in safe manner as per UAE traffic laws and OSC Policy.
  • Ensure loading/unloading/transporting of materials, equipment, tubular, containers etc. onto/off the vehicles is carried out in a safe/secure manner with proper lashing gear and within capacity.
  • Inspects equipment/vehicle prior to driving to ensure it is fully operational and meets safety standards.
  • Drive a company vehicle/bus to transport OSC staff/passengers to and fro the facility as and when required.
  • Be HSE conscious and report any near miss/accidents to dispatch/OSC HSE section.
  • Attend safety meeting, tool box talks and scheduled training courses.
  • Upgrade skills to heavy equipment operator.
  • Maintain daily vehicle checklist/Trip Sheets and inform the equipment coordinator/dispatch if any defects found and repairs/service need to be carried out.
  • Support, adhere and promote the QHSE policy of the company, along with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and LOLER standards.
  • Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification & Education:

  • Completed secondary school (high school/diploma is an advantage).

Experience:

  • Two years’ work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Training & Knowledge:

  • Skills in driving heavy-duty vehicles with load.
  • Ability to observe proper safety precaution.
  • Must hold a valid UAE driving license to drive Light Duty Vehicles such as pickups, heavy trucks/trailer/ Buses and Saloon Car.
  • Knowledge of road safety, RTA and HSE guidelines.
  • Knowledge of using the GPS and ability to plan routes accordingly
  • Basic English knowledge.
