Roles & Responsibilities



Job Description

Reporting to thetdirector of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Repair and maintain HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, generators, pumps, kitchen equipment, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and logging of activities.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain mechanical room safety and cleanliness.

2. Utilities & Monitoring

  • Record and monitor utility consumption and equipment performance (meters, gauges, voltages, etc.).
  • Ensure proper operation of major systems and report any irregularities to the supervisor.

3. Vehicle Maintenance

  • Maintain vehicle logs, service history, and perform inspections.
  • Ensure availability of tools, safety equipment, and spare parts in all vehicles.
  • Prepare purchase requests for parts and maintain inventory with the storekeeper.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Fill and file maintenance logs, checklists, and reports.
  • Track performance of systems and report inefficiencies or unsafe practices.
  • Coordinate with other departments and contractors when necessary.

5. Emergency Response

  • Remain on-call during emergencies or calamities.
  • Participate in fire brigade activities and emergency troubleshooting.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow hotel and engineering safety procedures (lock-out, tagging, signage, PPE).
  • Ensure safe work practices are in place to protect guests, staff, and equipment.

7. Miscellaneous

  • Support energy conservation initiatives.
  • Assist with store deliveries, special tasks, and any other assignments as directed.

Qualifications

  • To take an active interest in the welfare of La Cigale employees.
  • Maintain good working relations with all employees and outside bodies.
  • Maintain high standard of personal hygiene and appearance at all times.
  • To maintain respect of staff by professional and fair behavior.
  • To co-operate and assist in other areas of the department and Hotel as may be necessary.
  • At least 2 years in facility or hotel maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
