Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Trade Manager to lead and manage our international import-export operations from our Dubai office. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with India-based exports, deep knowledge of global trade regulations, and strong exposure to the FMCG or tobacco sector. This role requires coordinating international shipments, ensuring documentation compliance, managing trade partners, and driving profitability in global markets.


Key Responsibilities:

Export & Import Operations:

  • Oversee end-to-end export and import processes including logistics, documentation, custom clearance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage shipments from India to international destinations (UAE, Africa, Europe, etc.) with full responsibility for timely delivery and cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents, logistics partners, and clearing agents to ensure efficient cargo movement.
  • Ensure all trade documentation is complete – invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, fumigation, and country-specific compliance documents.

Market & Trade Management:

  • Identify new international trade opportunities, market segments, and distribution channels.
  • Maintain strong relationships with international buyers, distributors, suppliers, and government authorities in Dubai and target markets.
  • Monitor trade policies, import/export laws, and duty structures in target countries to ensure smooth transactions.

Commercial & Financial Control:

  • Ensure correct pricing, incoterms, margin control, and timely payments in line with company targets.
  • Work with finance teams on LCs, CADs, export incentives, and bank negotiations.
  • Maintain cost control across supply chain, freight, insurance, and warehousing.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Handle all legal and regulatory documentation including FSSAI, Dubai Municipality, Tobacco product registrations, barcoding, HS codes, labeling, and other product certifications.
  • Ensure product compliance with the customs and health regulations in all export/import countries.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Indian National preferred, currently in or willing to relocate to Dubai
  • 10–12 years of experience in international trade/export-import, especially from India to overseas markets
  • Prior experience in FMCG or Tobacco industry is mandatory
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • Strong understanding of global supply chain, trade laws, DGFT, Incoterms, and commodity codes
  • Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and trade compliance platforms
  • Fluent in English; Hindi essential; Arabic is a plus
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and leadership skills
