Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As an Executive Chef you will be responsible for leading the overall kitchen operations of the hotel.
You will train and manage kitchen team members, supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities, estimate food consumption and purchase of food, select and develop recipes.
Further you would need to standardize production of dishes to ensure consistent quality, establish presentation, technique and quality standards, plan and price menus, ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance, and ensure proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen. You may be required to cook certain dishes for special occasions and will oversee special catering events.
The Executive Chef is directly responsible for hiring, people development and performance reviews of the kitchen team and will report to the General Manager. Additionally the Executive Chef will be responsible for driving revenue and ensuring the profitable kitchen operations.
ABOUT YOU
- 5 7 years of culinary experience in a high-end or lifestyle setting, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Pre-opening and Egyptian market experience are strong advantages.
- A culinary storyteller your dishes have soul, and you bring passion to everything you plate.
- You re a hands-on, collaborative leader who builds teams that thrive under pressure and have fun doing it.
- You re commercially savvy and confident managing kitchen operations, budgets, and supplier relationships.
- You re a great communicator who works well with Front of the House, events, marketing, and senior leadership.
- You stay current on trends but know how to make them your own
- You take ownership of important issues, solve problems and make effective decisions
- Your humble and open to new ideas.
- You re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once
- You want to be part of something bigger and have fun along the way
