Roles & Responsibilities

  • Analyzing Project Documents:MEP estimators meticulously review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to understand the scope of the MEP work.
  • Preparing Cost Estimates:They develop comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors required for the MEP systems.
  • Collaborating with Teams:They work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates.
  • Submitting Bids and Proposals:MEP estimators prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for MEP projects.
  • Maintaining Records:They keep meticulous records of cost estimates, bids, and project documentation.
  • Staying Updated:They stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and technological advancements in MEP systems.
  • Assisting in Value Engineering:They contribute to value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
  • Supporting Post-Bid Activities:They assist with contract reviews, change order processing, and project cost tracking.
  • Participating in Meetings:They attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations to clarify project requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

A desired candidate for an MEP Estimator position in Dubai should possess a strong educational background in engineering or construction management, coupled with 2-3 years of experience in MEP estimation, specifically within the UAE construction industry. Proficiency in estimation software, AutoCAD, and other relevant tools. Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills are also essential for success in this role.
