As a Digital Learning Officer, you will be responsible for the design and production of digital learning solutions to meet training needs of the business. Responsibilities will include conducting training needs analysis based on agreed curricula or company manuals, designing appropriate instructional solutions, planning development of the online solution (across various platforms), and supporting the content development process to meet defined project deadlines.

In This Role, You Will

  • Recommend Learning Approach: to determine and recommend the appropriate learning approach and delivery medium to be used for assigned projects based on information attained during the needs analysis phase and document the rationale for the format selected.
  • Create and Design Online Content: Plan and produce designs for online learning materials using instructional systems design processes to develop course ware (across multiple platforms).
  • Apply the appropriate learning theory, instructional theory, and/or applications of media to instructional scenarios, structuring the courses into meaningful sections and arranging them into a logical hierarchy or sequence.
  • Determine the overall mix of media required to deliver the online content whilst engaging Digital Learning Coordinator. Determine the hardware and software environment required for the delivery of the instructional strategy.
  • Develop and Test Online Content: Ensure the instructional integrity of content development through systematic design and clear writing of scripts, narratives, storyboards, and templates.
  • Provide appropriate interaction and feedback and develop test items to adequately cover and accurately measure the achievement of learning objectives.
  • Testing of all learning content across multiple platforms
  • Measurements and Standards: to develop and maintain standards for instructional design and conduct quality assurance on instructional materials.
  • Work with Digital Learning Coordinator to ensure all learning content is managed, archived, and updated in line with agreed policies and procedures.
  • Support and guidance for Training Units: Provide guidance if required in the application of instructional design and the use of technology in the delivery of training.

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field. with a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Instructional or Course ware Designer or Other Related Field OR 12 years of schooling with a minimum of 5 years as an Instructional or Course ware Designer or Other Related Field
  • Experience in the design, development and delivery of instructional materials for adult education on digital learning platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of educational learning theories, models and taxonomies and principles of adult education is essential.
  • Proven track record in the creation, design, and delivery of instructional content.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers to interpret needs and produce sound instructional materials.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and meet deadlines.
  • Must be creative, diplomatic, and proactive at solving problems.
  • Expert knowledge and use of Learning platforms (VLE/LXP/LMS) and instructional design techniques appropriate for digital learning.
  • High level of expertise with software that facilitates the design of instruction (such as storyboards, flow charts, assessments) and the build of online course ware using professional authoring tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint for training content creation.
