Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and implement database structures and schemas (MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases).
- Develop and optimize stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application requirements.
- Design and maintain ETL processes for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Implement best practices for indexing, query optimization, and database tuning.
- Ensure data integrity through the use of proper data modeling and validation techniques.
- Apply database governance and security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure the database architecture aligns with application needs.
- Provide support to development teams for database-related queries and issues.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Create and maintain documentation (design principles, coding standards, best practices).
- Develop business continuity and disaster recovery solutions (DR, backups, replication, contingency planning).
- Serve as a Level 2/3 escalation point for system/database incidents.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Developer.
- Strong expertise in stored procedures, functions, triggers, and ETL processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Advanced experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Expertise in NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Couchbase.
- Knowledge of RADIUS cache solutions (preferred).
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Proven skills in performance tuning and database optimization.
- Knowledge of data warehouse technologies.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
